(those of you familiar will this blog may remember that Barbara & Norman are the resident adult gulls, whom the building owner had tried to deter from nesting)
Atë, the Greek Goddess of Mischief was thrown down from the heavens by her father, Zeus, as punishment for tricking him, and is resigned to wandering the earth, wreaking havoc on mortals. Her sisters, the Litai (Prayers) follow her and clean up her messes.
Bronze Plaque showing Atë and the Litai by Peter Flotner, circa 1535.
Loki is the Trickster God of Norse Mythology, probably best known from the (mythologically incorrect but nevertheless fantastic) Marvel movies. He was a shapeshifter and, amongst other incidents, his mischief lead to the death of the god Baldr. In punishment for this the Norse gods bound him with the entrails of one of his sons. But never mind that. Here's Tom Hiddleston (swoon) in character at Comic Con California.
The Mimis are cheeky, imp or fairy like spirits from the underworld in Polynesian mythology. They also feature in Aborigine stories. Unfortunately, they don't have any Smokin' Hot Brit-Hollywood actors portraying them in block buster movies, so I guess i'll just have to insert another picture of Tom Hiddleston here:
